As we navigate through the current landscape, the GA HIMSS Annual Conference is going virtual featuring a Ted Talk event format where focus will be on an idea or solution in an engaging and entertaining manner.
Ted Talk is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design, thus TED, converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. The Georgia Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (GA HIMSS) provides statewide leadership for the advancement and management of healthcare information and technology. Collectively, HIMSS represents more than 40,000 individual members across the country – with GA HIMSS encompassing over 1700 healthcare IT professionals – including many key CIOs from the state’s largest hospitals and healthcare facilities. GA HIMSS is dedicated to improving Healthcare IT locally through advocacy, collaboration and education, and to ensure quality patient care throughout the state of Georgia.
Our mission is to “Actively engage our members, sponsors, partners and legislators in improving health and health care in Georgia through information and technology”.
Our vision is “Better health for Georgians through information technology”. We do this “through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation, education, and community affiliations in Georgia”.
Innovation, education and advocacy are cornerstones of the GA HIMSS organization. The proceeds of our Silent Auction fund the student scholarship program. More details about the auction will be announced soon.
